Abstract
The New Salem Baptist Church in Harold (Co. Floyd), Kentucky, was one of the original churches to enter into the New Salem Association of Baptists (constituted in 1825 in eastern Kentucky, armed from Burning Springs). Built about the same time as the Association’s founding, the New Salem Baptist Church was built in an area originally called Harold Gap (now referred to as Old Harold Road).
