Abstract

This collection is comprised of primary sources assembled by Margaret Dotson, Berea College Associate Professor of Child and Family Studies.  The collection was assembled with the intention of assisting researchers examining the past foodways, social history, commerce and genealogy of the Appalachian region.  The collection was also assembled with the objective of preserving essential components, records, and primary sources of the foodways of the Appalachian region and provide insight into the region’s food availability, food choices, cooking methods, and recipes.
