Franklin Parker Papers

Abstract

Franklin Parker graduated from Berea College with a B.A. in 1949. He went on to the University of Illinois, Urbana to receive his M.S. in L.S. in 1950 and received his ED.D. in 1956 from the Peabody College of Vanderbilt University. Parker served as a librarian at many universities early in his career and went on to teach as a professor of education at numerous others.

Abstract G. Gilbert Roberts, a 1930 graduate of Berea College, was on Berea's faculty for 46 years, retiring in 1976. Roberts was a mathematics professor and served as department chairman. He also taught astronomy, and upon retirement, the college observatory was named in his honor. Abstract George R. Bent II was born March 5, 1928, in Berea, Kentucky, to George Bent and Eleanor Hopkins Bent. His father was the Director of Customer Services with the Berea College crafts and who, for a short time in the early 1930s, was head of the Mountain Weaver Boys.
