Health and Human Performance Department
Scope and Contents
This collection documents the history and activities of the physical education department at Berea College from 1899 to the present. Until 1994, two physical education departments existed – one for men and one for women. In 1994, the two departments combined into one Physical Education and Health Department. The department later changed its name to the Health and Human Performance Department. This series includes documents providing information about the history of the departments, administrative, curricular and instructional materials, materials regarding the regional and national athletic organizations that Berea College has belonged to, as well as detailed records of individual sports and athletic events.
