The second series is the most diverse in the collection. Most of the items were special honors that Juanita Kreps received in the form of plaques, framed certificates and legal documents, and hand-drawn political cartoons. Additional materials include ephemera, newspaper clippings, notes for a slide show of her 1978 trip to India and the Soviet Union, and copies of six published works that she authored or co-authored. Abstract
This collection comprises photographs, certificates, plaques, writings, and audio-visual recordings created primarily in the 1970s to 1990s. These resources document the life and accomplishments of educator and economist Juanita M. Kreps (1921-2010), a Berea College and Duke University graduate who served as the first female U.S. Secretary of Commerce.
