Scope and Contents
Collected from various sources by Berea College Appalachian Center director Loyal Jones, the recordings in this collection consist of speeches and broadcast interviews of James McBride Dabbs and others dating from the late 1950s and early 1960s. Themes emphasized in many of the recordings include Appalachian and Southern life and history, race relations, integration, Southern identity, and the church in the South.
