Scope and Contents
The weightage of the original and photocopied records retained within the song files series concern handwritten or printed lyrics, music scores, copyright registration documents and a limited range of supporting materials. These files were maintained for the purposes of disseminating information that enabled the performing of Janis Ian’s music. The bulk of the material range from circa 1965 upto the late 1990s. From then on similar material started to be retained within “Album files” [held in the following series].
