From the Collection:

The assemblage of maps in this collection conveys visual information about the geography, geology, and topography of the United States, its natural resources, political subdivisions, and transportation routes that were developed during the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries. Some of the maps in the collection were originally gathered and utilized by the Berea College Geology Department. Others were collected by the college Library as part of the Weatherford-Hammond Mountain Collection. The remainder were found in the Special Collections and Archives without accompanying provenance data.
