Abstract The Cleophus Charles and Rosa Lee Charles papers are the collected personal and professional papers of Berea College history professor Dr. Cleo Charles (1943-2020) and his wife, Berea College Assistant Registrar Rosa Lee Walker Charles (1946-1990). Most of the resources in this collection document Dr. Charles's life, academic achievements, research, teaching, and involvement with campus groups and events. Abstract

This archival collection includes paper records, still and moving images, audio recordings and computer files. These items and related Berea College institutional records allow current and future scholars to explore the legacy of a renowned African American feminist social critic whose life began and ended in Kentucky.

This record group includes more than 40 boxes of documents, photographs, and other pieces of public information regarding students who have attended Berea College and allied schools. These materials have been, and are currently being, collected and organized by library and archival staff. Materials within these folders differ, and not all students who have previously attended these schools may have information available.
