First meeting in 1939, the Faculty Advisory Council (often called Adivsory Council) was established to provide a democratic means of communication on matters of mutual interest to several faculties, the Labor Group, the President, and the Board of Trustees. Abstract
William Robert Hutcherson, born in Glassgow, Kentucky, on December 20, 1898, received his A.B. (1922) and A.M. (1924) from the University of Kentucky. Hutcherson continued with his graduate work during the summers at Chicago (1925-1927, 1929) while on the faculty at Berea College. Hutcherson first served as head of the department of the junior high school at Berea from 1924 to 1926.
