Abstract
This study collection comprises eighteen written works that were created between the second century C.E. and 1792. These items were collected by Hutchins Library for use as educational resources in the Special Collections and Archives department. They were described as a unit in 2024 to enhance discovery and use. From the Collection:
The collection of second through eighteenth century manuscripts gathers Hutchins Library's oldest hand-written resources into a study collection. Document formats include a papyrus fragment, two codices, a Torah scroll, book leaves, letters and legal documents. Some items are boxed; others are shelved in the Special Collections. This material may be of special interest to persons studying languages, paleography, calligraphy, book arts, book history, religion and world history.
