Abstract

For nearly 100 years, Berea College Convocations has made lectures, concerts and the performing arts available to the students and the general public. A significant part of students' educational experience at the College is offered through the Convocation series which, in addition to enlivening the intellectual, aesthetic and religious lives of students, provides common experiences for students, faculty, and staff.

Arrangement Note

Arranged in four series:

Series 1: Administrative Records - Records and materials documenting the administration of the College's convocation and assembly program including notices, correspondence, committee meeting minutes, policy documents and other.

Series 2: Lectures, Concerts and Performances - Materials, including event notices and programs, of individual lectures, concerts, and performances.

Series 3: Convocation Calendars - Calendars (often with short descriptions) of convocation events by semester, short-term, and/or academic school year.

Series 4: W.J. Hutchins Lectureship Series - Records including event programs and notices. Materials regarding events that are part of the lectureship series can also be found in Series 1 - 3.
