This collection comprises two boxes of Appalachian research field notes, papers presented at conferences, and both published and unpublished writings by Sue Greer-Pitt, including her MA Thesis and doctoral dissertation. Berea president John Stevenson was a close advisor and served on her University of Kentucky dissertation committee.

Biographical Note
Sue Greer-Pitt received her BA from Oberlin College in 1973 in Sociology and Anthropology. She then received her MA and PhD in Sociology from the University of Kentucky. She taught for 35 years in the subjects of sociology, anthropology, Appalachian studies, statistics and education.
