Mary Lou Thomson Treese was a 1944 graduate of Berea College. She was the daughter of Edith Ellis Thomson and Dr. A. Eugene Thomson who both attended Berea and whose fathers' both taught at Berea. Dr. A. Eugene Thomson served as the first President of the Lincoln Institute of Kentucky.
