Kenneth Thompson papers
Scope and Contents
The papers of Kenneth Thompson is a small collection of records including biographical material, memoranda, materials from Thompson's tenure as both Dean of Men and Associate Dean, and records regarding the March on Montgomery (March 1965) including statements made by the College regarding students planning to attend the march. Also included in the papers are a collection of Dean's Committee Meeting Minutes (1955-1958) and Thompson's records from his work with Pine Mountain Settlement School (1969-1970).

Biographical / Historical
Kenneth H. Thompson, Ph.D., (1909-1981) was a member of the Berea College faculty from 1946 to 1975. Early in his career at Berea, Dr. Thompson served as Director of Verterans Service, Dean of Men, Associate Dean, and Associate Professor of Psychology. From 1948 to 1949 Thompson served as the acting Dean of the College while Louis Smith was on leave. Thompson served as a Fullbright Lecturer in Pakistan from 1955 to 1956. During the 1960s and 1970s Thompson served on the Board of Trustees of Pine Mountain Settlement School. At the time of his retirement, Thompson was Dean of Instruction and Associate Professor of Psychology.
