Abstract

The Berea Publishing Company (one time publisher of the Berea Citizen) was incorporated in the state of Kentucky on November 18th, 1904.  The three original stokeholders were Louis Hinman, William G. Frost, and B.E. Cartmell, all of Berea.  The first President of the corporation was William G. Frost.

Bible School at Berea, Kentucky

Abstract

Not connected with Berea College, the Bible School at Berea was established at the edge of Berea College under the direction of H.J. Derthick.  The school was established with the sponsorship of John G. Fee and his new church - the Church of Christ.  Little is known about this short-lived institution and few records of its existence remain.

Abstract Olivia Phelps Stokes gifted to the College ten chimes (Meneely Bells) in honor of President William Goodell Frost’s 25th year at Berea College. The bells were fabricated in New York and the large "F" bell is inscribed: "These bells commemorate the 25th year of William Goodell Frost's Presidency of Berea College and his unfailing, self-sacrificing devotion to the College and its interests."
