Historical Sketches and Publications, 1925-1981
Scope and Contents
This series consists of publications and personal recollections of Henderson Settlement history which were made by Hiram Frakes, other Settlement staff members, and local residents. These recollections document the mission’s philosophy, purpose and program; give information on the Henderson and Partin families; and provide biographical data on Hiram Frakes. Some of the sketches are excerpted from the publication, Kentucky Mountain Missions. This published work and other newsletters generated by Henderson Settlement, are included at the beginning of the series. Historical sketches follow this material.
