Scope and Contents
Materials in this series consist of copies of speeches delivered by Francis S. Hutchins during his tenure as president of Berea College. Speeches were delivered at both Berea College and other locations/institutions. General topics include education in Appalachia, adult education, Christian education, the role of Berea College, and the modern history and development of China.
Materials consist of typewritten copies of speeches, notes on speech outlines, and clippings or correspondence relevant to the occasion of the speech. The complete texts are not always present. Handwritten corrections or additions to texts and notes are sometimes included.
