This series is comprised of copies of Yale University Archives materials relating to Francis S. Hutchins’ participation in the Yale-in-China program. Papers (1925-1970) include photocopies of correspondence with Yale-in-China staff and various family members, including his parents, William J. and Anna M. Hutchins, and his brother, Robert Maynard Hutchins. These letters, along with miscellaneous reports and telegrams, document Hutchins role as a representative of the Trustees, the work and programs of Yale-in-China, and the social and political developments in China during the period.
