Scope and Contents
This series contains a file with pictures and slides about Chinese artwork, pottery, sewing, and landscapes. There are miscellaneous items about China such as newspaper articles, articles from Time magazine, and other material pertaining to China.
“China, The Early Years” a collection of letters, notes, etc. from Daniel Sheets Dye and Jane Balderstone Dye are also located in this series. Another publication, “Jane Balderstone Dye and Daniel Sheets Dye,” contains a brief introduction to what Daniel Sheets Dye found in China and what he attempted to save as part of the cultural heritage of all peoples. The Dye's taught at the West China Union University in Chengtu
Birth announcement cards also be found, and there are letters written by and to J. Calvin Bright. These subjects vary from personal letters to business matters. The material in each folder arranged chronologically.
