Edward Lafferty was a 1931 Berea College graduate and received his Masters from the George Peabody College for Teachers in Nashville. Lafferty served as principal of the Burdine School in Jenkins, KY, for eight years and served in the South Pacific with the US Air Force during WWII. Lafferty later went on to become the owner and director (with his wife, Mildred) of the Mohonk Cragsmoor School in New York. He passed away in 1977.
