Vice President of Berea College (1904 - 1906). Correspondence regarding placement/status of black students upon passage of Day Law. Includes: 1904 Letter to President of Fisk Univeristy, J.G. Merrill regarding potential placement of students at Fisk; 1904 letter to E.M. Gentry (Berea senior) on being allowed to attend Fisk for final year and receive Berea College degree and Berea's payment to Fisk; 1904 correspondence with Guy Ward Mallon regarding "effort to aid the colored school in Berea;" and 1904 letter to Professor L.V. Dodge regarding meetings with trustees, student actions, potential opening of a private school.
