Scope and Contents
This collection consists of official and personal papers of, William Goodell Frost, who served as Berea College's third president from 1892 to 1920. The Frost papers include personal and official correspondence; sermons, addresses, and lectures; manuscript writings; diaries; reports; photographs; and papers of Frost's wife, Eleanor Marsh Frost. The papers provide important documentation of Frost's life, racial issues in Kentucky, and on the history of Berea College.

General
Materials consist of handwritten and typed departmental reports, typed excerpts of the latter, miscellaneous presidential memoranda, and annual and quarterly reports. Departmental reports span the period 1892-1920 and include music, faculty, normal, library, hospital, brickyard, labor office, printing, farm, and dean's reports. Excerpts from 1907-1920 reports are also present. Other materials consist of Frost's annual and quarterly reports to the board of trustees for 1895-1920 (not all years). Accompanying the latter are handwritten notes from Frost to trustees, a farewell report, and several statements addressed to trustees subsequent to his administration's end. Arranged chronologically by year.
