Scope and Contents
Within this series, the bulk of photographic materials documents Janis Ian’s professional music career, from early 1960s to present day. Originally organised by Pat; series one identifies photographic materials via their subject ranging from live performances, tour scenes, public appearances and posing with friends or well-known public figures. Similar content is held within series two, only the folders have been arranged into chronological order.
Profile imagery of Janis Ian was extensively used within album booklets, promotional content and the printed press. A large array of photographic prints, negatives, contact sheets of this subject have been bundled together in series three. The photographic files in series four collates images, contact sheets, negatives produced by the named photographer during either studio or onsite photoshoots.
