Scope and Contents
The second series of materials in the bell hooks papers document her work as an American literary figure. Not every published work is represented. The series is divided into four topical subseries: Articles, books, and book chapters; Interviews, dialogues, and conversations; Poems, plays, and children’s books; and Unpublished writings. Series 2 concludes with two folders of data reflecting working relationships between Dr. hooks and her publishers.

Most materials in this archival collection are available for use in the Special Collections and Archives reading room. Private correspondences with family members and close friends in Series 1 are restricted while the correspondents are living. Access to these letters for research purposes requires permission of the bell hooks estate.
