Scope and Contents

This folder comprises multiple exchanges of correspondence to and / or from Alfred C. Howell. Most letters concern Abraham Lincoln and studies of Lincoln. Correspondents include David Rankin Barbee, Albert Britt, William E. Barton, and Joseph Benjamin Oakleaf. The folder also includes Vol. 9, No. 2 of The Pine Torch (January 1948) and several typed transcriptions of letters written by Mary Lincoln and Abraham Lincoln. Howell was an active member of The Abraham Lincoln Association.
