Abstract Isabelle Sprague-Smith was a painter, art activist, and art educator including art instructor and principal at the Veltin School for Girls in New York City from 1900-25.   Sprague-Smith was also Director of the MacDowell Association in Peterborough, New Hampshire, and founder of the Bach Festival in Winter Park, Florida.  Her daughter, Hilda, writer of most of the texts contained within the collection, graduated from Bryn Mawr College in 1909 with a degree in History, Economics and Politics....
