Abstract Annville Institute was an early outgrowth of the work begun in Jackson County, Kentucky, by the Women’s’ Board of Domestic Missions of the Reformed Church of America.  In 1900, New York based missionaries, Cora A. Abstract The Settlement Institutions of Appalachia (SIA) was founded in 1970 as a non-profit consortium of private service institutions in South Central Appalachia.
